Margaret Clark

The focus of my work is the narrative that results from the contrasting of two or more images. The underlying theme is human’s relation to nature. Trees populate the earth as unique individuals in the same way humans do. Pairing the figure with trees emphasizes this shared portrait. The paintings with antiques are a contrast of the contemporary idea of value in a beautiful physical body as opposed to the past, when a persons value was represented in the beautiful objects they owned.
